Udta Teer Box Office Collection Day 1: Ayushmann Khurrana is all over the headlines these days courtesy of his recent release Udta Teer. The spy comedy is helmed by debutant Aakash Kaushik and also features Sara Ali Khan, Rahul Bose, Ram Kapoor, Gulshan Grover, Mukul Dev, Suhail Nayyar, Supriya Pilgaonkar, Brijendra Kala. Interestingly, Udta Teer marks Ayushmann’s second collaboration with Sara after Pati Patni Aur Woh Do which came in 2025. On the other hand, Udta Teer marks late actor Mukul Dev’s second release posthumously and it did open to rave reviews from the audience and critics.
In fact, renowned film critic Sumit Kadel gave Udta Teer a 4 star rating and wrote, “Udta Teer is one of the most unique, entertaining and intelligently written and directed films of 2026. You can call it a spy comedy that consistently succeeds in making the audience laugh. The film features several hilarious sequences that will leave you in splits, particularly an extended scene involving Rahul Bose [ it features one of the most iconic kissing scene which will be remembered for years 😁] . There are also multiple moments where the Pakistani Army and terrorists are mocked through clever meta-references, our padosis wil hate those sceens. Even the famous Twitter hashtag #PKMB finds a place in the narrative. Writer-director Akash Kaushik deserves immense credit for his bold and unconventional storytelling. The first half is hilarious, while the second half takes an interesting turn. The final 20 minutes and climax deliver twists that can be compared to the likes of #Dhurandhar2 and #Drishyam. The climax is terrific, and audiences with a sound understanding of geopolitics will find it even more rewarding”. However, despite decent reviews, Udta Teer saw a slow start at the box office

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Udta Teer made a collection of Rs 4.1cr on opening day and managed to beat Pati Patni Aur Woh Do by a brim as the latter earned Rs 4cr on its day of release

Given the positive word of mouth, Udta Teer is expected to pick up pace and is expected to earn Rs 6cr leading the overall collection over Rs 10cr. It will be interesting to see if it can touch Rs 15cr during the opening weekend in India.
Meanwhile, as Udta Teer is being referred to as reverse of Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar, Aakash told The Print, “Aditya Dhar is a very close friend, he’s like a brother to me. I’ve even written a film for him. He was writing Dhurandhar while I was writing this film. He knew about it from the nascent stages, as I knew about Dhurandhar. And we were equally excited for each other. If you look at terrorist organisations, you’ll find that someone’s father started one, or someone is the son of a man who was number two in Al-Qaeda. Osama’s son was involved too,” he said. “For me, comedy isn’t about people trying to be funny. It’s taking a real situation, revealing its layers, and then having people react to that bizarre situation”.
