Superstar Salman Khan on Friday announced that his much-delayed war drama movie “Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace” will finally make its debut in theatres across the country on December 4. Salman, who headlines the Apoorva Lakhia-directed movie, based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops, shared the release date at the film’s promotional event here. Ramayana records Rs 155 crore on opening day at worldwide box office
Ramayana: Part One, the grand retelling of the Hindu mythological epic, made a blockbuster start at the worldwide box office, collection Rs 155 crore gross on its opening day, the makers said on Friday. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film released worldwide on November 5, featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana and Ravi Dubey as Lakshmana. In a press note, the makers said that the movie has registered the highest pre-Diwali opening in the history of Indian cinema. “Making a remarkable start at the global box office, ‘Ramayana’ has collected a staggering Rs 155 crore worldwide gross on its opening day, emerging as the highest Day 1 Pre-Diwali opener in the history of Indian cinema,” the note read.

Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh has been announced as one of the performers at the 2026 Latin Grammy Awards, marking another milestone in his celebrated career. The Latin Recording Academy on Thursday confirmed the “G.O.A.T.” singer’s participation at the 27th edition of the awards, to be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on November 12. Ramayana Screening Halted At Greater Noida Mall After Smoke Fills Theatre
A screening of Ramayana at a cinema in Greater Noida was stopped on Wednesday evening, November 5, after smoke spread inside the theatre due to a short circuit. Around 10 to 15 people present in the auditorium were safely evacuated following the incident at Galaxy Blue Sapphire Mall in Gaur City. Fortunately, no casualties were reported. The incident took place at around 7.30 pm at US Cinemas, where the film was being screened. A short circuit in the projector room of Auditorium 10 caused the wires to overheat, leading to smoke inside the premises. The situation prompted an immediate evacuation, while the screening was brought to a halt.

Ramayana Box Office Collection Day 1
As per Sacnilk, Ramayana opened at Rs. 64.85 crore net across all languages in India, while its first-day gross collection stood at Rs. 77.50 crore. The film was expected to make a bigger impact at the box office, with trade expectations suggesting that its opening-day net earnings could cross the Rs. 80 crore mark. However, the actual figures fell short of that target. Released in five languages — Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada — the film recorded its highest collection from the Hindi version. It earned Rs. 47.50 crore net in Hindi alone. The Kannada version came second with Rs. 7.25 crore, despite expectations of a stronger opening, especially with Yash playing Ravana. Meanwhile, the Telugu version collected Rs. 6 crore, followed by Tamil with Rs. 2.60 crore and Malayalam with Rs. 1.50 crore net on its opening day.
