King First Song Tu Mil Jaaye: Shah Rukh Khan has reunited with Deepika Padukone, and fans have another reason to celebrate. The superstar released the first song from his much-hyped film King at midnight on November 2, coinciding with his birthday celebrations. Titled Tu Mil Jaaye, the track brings back the popular on-screen pairing and their fans are elated.
Featuring Arijit Singh’s vocals and an English rap by Ed Sheeran, the song combines romance, action, and the superstar signature larger-than-life screen presence. While the chemistry between Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika has caught attention, the song has caught attention of the Reddit users.
KING SONG TU MIL JAAYE: SHAH RUKH KHAN AND DEEPIKA PADUKONE REUNITE
The music video opens with Shah Rukh Khan delivering an intense dialogue that introduces his character’s personality. He says, “I am not a killer, but a lover. My beloved is my target, and what kind of lover would I be if I did not pierce the heart?”
The video then moves towards romantic moments between Shah Rukh and Deepika. The two actors are seen dancing and sharing some lovely moments, reminding fans of their much-loved pairing. Their chemistry remains one of the biggest highlights of the song.
However, the makers have not kept the video limited to romance. Shah Rukh also gets into action mode, taking on his enemies and showing a completely different side of his character. Another interesting moment comes when the superstar lip-syncs to Ed Sheeran’s English rap.
The video ends with another powerful dialogue from SRK: “This time, a fire is raging in my heart. It will not stop until it has set the world ablaze.”
TU MIL JAAYE REDDIT REACTIONS: WHY FANS COMPARING IT TO JHOOME JO PATHAAN?
Despite the excitement around Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone’s reunion, Tu Mil Jaaye has received mixed reactions online. Some Reddit users have expressed disappointment with the track, drawing comparisons with Jhoome Jo Pathaan from the 2023 blockbuster Pathaan.
The comparisons have particularly brought attention to the familiar musical feel associated with Shah Rukh Khan and director Siddharth Anand’s previous collaboration. While the reunion of the actor-director duo has raised expectations, not everyone appears convinced by the first song from King.
Reacting to it, a Redditor wrote, “If someone told me this was from Pathaan 2, I would’ve believed them. I’m hoping King has more to it than just being an action film with beach songs. The first poster gave off a different vibe so I’m still optimistic.”
Another comment reads, “Jhoome jo pathan-hang over.”
A third comment reads, “This looks like a compilation of the last 2 movies he did – Pathan and Jawan.”
KING MOVIE CAST, RELEASE DATE: SRK TO SHARE SCREENS SPACE WITH SUHANA
Apart from Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, King features an interesting ensemble cast. Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Jaideep Ahlawat, Raghav Juyal and Saurabh Shukla will be seen playing important roles in the film.
One of the biggest highlights is Shah Rukh sharing screen space with his daughter Suhana Khan for the first time. Suhana made her acting debut with Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies in 2023, and King will mark her theatrical debut.
Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures, the Siddharth Anand directorial is scheduled to release in cinemas worldwide on December 24.
