EXCLUSIVE! Ankit Mohan On His Off-Screen Bond With Emraan Hashmi
When we asked Ankit Mohan about his first reaction upon learning that he would share screen space with Emraan Hashmi, the actor couldn’t help but recall growing up watching him.
Revealing his adorable first reaction upon meeting Emraan on set, Ankit said, “Of course, this is the first time I have had the opportunity to work with Emraan Bhai, and I have grown up watching him. But when I saw him on set, I thought, ‘He still looks so young! Looks like I am the one who’s grown up!’ He is a sweetheart and a gem of a person. You don’t feel like you are sitting with a star when you are around him. When we were shooting, 99% of our conversations were about fitness, diet and health supplements. He also praised the look I have achieved and the condition I have maintained my body in. We had some action sequences as well, so we had a lot of fun and shared plenty of laughs. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.”
EXCLUSIVE! Ankit Mohan On Working With Big Directors
Expressing his gratitude for the opportunity to work with big directors, Ankit Mohan exclusively told Filmibeat, “I consider myself very fortunate to be getting opportunities to work on such big projects. For instance, I met Rohit Shetty Sir during Singham. I got the opportunity to work with Maddock’s team on Thamma, and after that, I worked with Karan and Anshuman on Glory. Then I moved on to Pedd and met the rest of the team there. And now, I am working with Emraan Bhai on Gunmaaster G9. I think there comes a time in life when God decides that it is time for you to grow and move to the next stage. I feel this is that phase for me, when all these paths are opening up and I am getting opportunities to showcase my potential in front of such incredible people.”
EXCLUSIVE! Did Ankit Mohan Audition For Gunmaaster G9?
Gunmaaster G9 marks Ankit Mohan’s reunion with his Crakk: Jeetegaa… Toh Jiyegaa director, Aditya Datt. But did you know Ankit didn’t even have to audition for his role in the Emraan Hashmi-starrer? Revealing how Aditya placed his faith in him, the actor added, “I am not allowed to talk about my look. However, I can say that I have never experimented with a character like this before. Adi Bhai had a lot of confidence in me, and he was quite sure about his decision. I think that is the vision of a director: to be able to visualise an actor in a particular character. Perhaps I earned his trust while working on Crakk, which is why he gave me this opportunity in Gunmaaster G9. He did not ask me to audition or even call me for a meeting. He directly called me and said, ‘Ankit, you have to meet the officer.’ I went and met him, and he explained how things would work and what the character was about. I simply asked him, ‘Just tell me, when do I have to come for the shoot?’ I think when a director places that kind of faith in you, it becomes your responsibility to live up to his expectations. I loved the experiment he has attempted with my character. I would describe it as a scary yet beautiful experiment. Let’s see how it turns out. I am sure the audience will love it!”
