Keerthy Suresh is known for her performances in South film industry across different genres. From playing supporting roles to taking centre stage in female-led films, the actress has explored different kinds of characters throughout her career. During an exclusive interview with Filmfare, Keerthy spoke about actresses taking up smaller roles in films featuring big South stars, she acknowledged that she had also been part of such projects earlier in her career.
She said, “Yes, I have also done those kinds of roles, but after Mahanati or my recent films, I haven’t done such roles. Those kinds of roles give me some kind of establishment. They give me some kind of exposure. We are in a place where, once I do those kinds of roles, people get to know me.”
The actress further explained that building a strong presence in the industry is a gradual process. She added, “After that, I will be able to pull off female-driven films. So, it’s a process. But once I have proved that I can do more than just dancing or doing small kinds of roles, that’s when I get better opportunities to do such films.”
Keerthy also spoke about her upcoming projects she revealed that she is working on films with Vijay Deverakonda and Venkatesh.
Sharing details, she said, “I am doing a film with Vijay Deverakonda in Telugu. There is another film with Venkatesh. All these are very important characters. These are not films where I have just a small role.”
She concluded, “You need one opportunity. Once we have shown a different face, after that, people don’t bring you such roles and same happened with me. Now people don’t offer me just a small role.”
