Jailer 2 (Hindi) Advance Booking Collection Day 1: Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 is among the most watched upcoming Tamil films, largely because of the goodwill created by Jailer in 2023. The Nelson Dilipkumar-directed action comedy turned into a major box-office success, with Rajinikanth’s character Muthuvel Pandian, also known as Tiger, becoming a fan favourite. The sequel brings back key names from the first film, including Rajinikanth, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Mirnaa and Rithvik. The film has also expanded its cast with S. J. Suryah, Mithun Chakraborty, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Vidya Balan, Anna Rajan and Jatin Sarna, giving the franchise a wider appeal across industries.
While the trailer has generated strong online chatter, Jailer 2 is releasing in Tamil, telugu, Hindi and Kannada languages. Despite being one of the most anticipated releases of the year, early advance booking response is said to be below expectations in the Hindi market. However, a slow start in advance sales does not always decide a film’s fate. With Rajinikanth returning as Tiger and Nelson’s brand of mass comedy still fresh in audience memory, Jailer 2 could gain momentum closer to release.

Hrithik’s Reunion with Rajinikanth After 40 Years
To note, Jailer 2 has been creating a massive buzz as it features a special cameo by Hrithik Roshan. Interestingly, Hrithik has collaborated with Rajinikanth after 40 years. They were last seen in 1986 film Bhagwaan Dada wherein Hrithik was seen as a child artist. However, this much talked about reunion also failed to create buzz for advance booking. It will be interesting to see if Jailer 2 can pick pace post release in the Hindi market.
Meanwhile, talking about Jailer 2, Rajinikanth told Sun NXT, “I usually don’t prefer sequels. I feel like whatever is in part 1, they’ll add salt and spices to it. I was approached for Baasha 2 and Petta 2, but I did not agree to do them. Towards the end of the film, when I’m about to kill him, Varman says that he has a huge network who won’t spare me. Also, at the end of Jailer, there are three containers worth ₹1000 crore. I felt it had potential for a sequel”.
