Veteran Marathi Actor Madhu Kambikar Passes Away
Veteran Marathi actor and Lavani artiste Madhu Kambikar passed away in Pune on Monday due to a prolonged illness, her family friend said. She was 72. “She was unwell for many years. She passed away today in Pune. In 2016, she suffered a stroke, which left her paralysed on one side. Since then, she had been bedridden,” said family friend and director Mahesh Tilekar.

Hindi TV Actress Rescued From Prostitution Racket In Thane
A 35-year-old Hindi television actress has been rescued from an alleged prostitution and human trafficking racket in Maharashtra’s Thane district, according to a report published by Times Now News on Sunday, October 11. Police have arrested a 39-year-old woman in connection with the case, while efforts are underway to trace her alleged male associate. According to the report, which cites PTI, police received a tip-off from a non-governmental organisation (NGO) after it sent a decoy customer to a hotel on Mira-Bhayander Road on October 8, 2026. Following the tip-off, the police conducted a raid at the hotel and apprehended a woman identified as Tabassum, also known as Sonia Umar Qureshi, 39. She was allegedly caught accepting money in connection with the prostitution racket.
