Yami Gautam and Aditya Dhar have reportedly chosen the mountains over Mumbai as their main home base. According to a report, the actor-filmmaker couple has shifted permanently to Himachal Pradesh, while continuing to travel to Mumbai for film work, meetings and professional commitments.

The move appears to be in line with the couple’s long-held preference for privacy. Yami and Aditya have rarely turned their personal life into a public spectacle, even after becoming one of Bollywood’s closely followed pairs. Their reported decision also reflects a growing pattern among some film personalities who prefer living away from constant paparazzi attention when they are not shooting.
Why Himachal Pradesh matters to Yami Gautam and Aditya Dhar
Himachal Pradesh is not a new retreat for Yami. The actor has deep personal ties with the state and owns a heritage property in Gohar, Mandi. The home, said to be around 100 years old, sits on a large estate and has been closely linked to her family memories.
The property also holds emotional value for the couple because Yami and Aditya got married there in June 2021. Their wedding was a quiet ceremony, far from the usual high-profile Bollywood celebrations. Since then, the Himachal home has often been seen as an extension of their understated personal style.
The house is reportedly built with traditional wood and stone elements. The surrounding land includes gardens where produce such as apples, potatoes, plums and ginger is grown. Rather than turning the estate into an elaborate celebrity residence, the couple is said to have preferred keeping it simple and rooted.
A quieter life away from Mumbai’s spotlight
Before the reported shift, Yami and Aditya were living in Mumbai’s Khar area. Aditya had earlier made a light-hearted reference to their address on Chitrakar Dhurandhar Marg while promoting his film Dhurandhar. The couple, however, continued to maintain a guarded public presence despite their industry success.
Privacy has become even more important for them since the birth of their son, Vedavid, in May 2024. Yami has shared glimpses of motherhood on social media, but the couple has kept their child’s face away from public view.
Professionally, both remain active in films. Aditya continues his work as a filmmaker and producer, while Yami has balanced strong screen roles with a selective public life. Their reported move to Himachal does not signal a step away from cinema, but rather a clearer boundary between work and home.
For Yami Gautam and Aditya Dhar, the shift appears less like a dramatic exit from Mumbai and more like a conscious lifestyle choice. With Himachal as home and Mumbai as a workplace, the couple seems to be choosing privacy without disconnecting from the industry that shaped their careers.
