Anne Hathaway recently found herself going viral after an unexpected display of her “mom mode” at the New York premiere of her latest film, Verity. While posing alongside co -stars Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett, the red carpet photo session began getting a little chaotic, with several photographers trying to get their shots.

In an attempt to keep things moving and help the photographers,Anne spontaneously and hilariously stepped in and began directing the group, counting out loud and telling everyone when to move and where to look.
The candid moment quickly made its way across social media, with fans amused by Hathaway taking charge of the situation. The actress later opened up about the incident during her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she recalled that she was simply trying to be helpful as the photographers were getting frustrated and the energy on the carpet was changing.
Hathaway admitted that the second she finished directing the group, she realised, “Oh no. This is gonna go viral,” especially after remembering that the entire moment had also been caught on video. Laughing about her reaction, she described going into a “full cringe crouch” internally, while also jokingly apologising for the funny viral moment.
What started as Hathaway simply trying to help on a busy red carpet became one of the most entertaining moments from the premiere, with the actress herself laughing about her relatable “mom mode.”
The film is directed by Michael Showalter. Produced by Amazon MGM Studios and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing International, Verity is slated to release in India on 2nd October 2026, in cinemas only.
