DRISHYAM 3 ENDING EXPLAINED: WHAT HAPPENS WITH VIJAY SALGAONKAR & FAMILY?

At the centre of the Drishyam franchise has always been one thing – Vijay Salgaonkar and his family’s attempt to protect themselves after Sameer Deshmukh’s death. Sameer, the son of Goa IG Meera Deshmukh, had secretly recorded Anju Salgaonkar and later tried to blackmail her. During a confrontation, Nandini Salgaonkar accidentally killed him, changing the lives of the entire family.

Since then, Vijay has gone to extreme lengths to keep the truth from coming out. He carefully created a story around the family’s whereabouts and removed every possible link that could connect them to Sameer. Even when the police continued to investigate the case, the Salgaonkars refused to admit that they had known him.

Drishyam The Conclusion finally brings this long-running battle to an end. The case against the Salgaonkars falls apart as there is no solid proof left to establish that they killed Sameer or helped cover up his death. The court eventually closes the case, allowing the family to walk away without facing punishment for the crime.

DRISHYAM THE CONCLUSION LAST SCENE: WHAT HAPPENS WITH MEERA?

“Wo galat hokar bhi hero hai aur hum sahi hokar bhi villain.” Meera Deshmukh’s words in the final scene of Drishyam The Conclusion are probably the most important takeaway from the entire franchise. After watching Vijay Salgaonkar outsmart the police once again, it is easy to look at him as the man who saved his family. But Meera’s line forces you to look at the same story from the other side.

Vijay may have protected his wife and daughters, but that protection came at a cost. The Salgaonkars were involved in Sameer’s death and then spent years building one lie after another to keep the truth hidden. So, while the family gets its freedom at the end, the moral question around Vijay is far from simple.
