New Found Glory guitarist Chad Gilbert has died after battling cancer for several years. The musician was first diagnosed with metastatic pheochromocytoma, a rare form of adrenal cancer, in 2021 and had continued treatment over the years.
Earlier this year, Gilbert underwent emergency brain surgery after collapsing at home. He later made his return to the stage, performing with the band just three months ago.
His wife and New Found Glory bandmates said they were devastated by his sudden passing, while also sharing that he died peacefully.

Chad and Lisa reportedly started dating in early 2018. After nearly two years together, the couple tied the knot on October 3, 2020. They later welcomed their daughter, Lily, less than a year after their wedding.
Lisa Cimorelli is a singer and songwriter best known as a member of Cimorelli, the all-sister music group that gained popularity through YouTube covers.

Chad Gilbert was fairly active on Instagram, and following his death, fans have been revisiting his social media posts and remembering his final updates. His last hospital post, shared on August 22, has especially caught fans’ attention.
In the post, the late guitarist shared pictures from his hospital stay after he was admitted when doctors discovered “4.5 liters of fluid” in his lungs. Gilbert revealed that he’d spent five days in the hospital for the treatment.
